Students complete a portfolio of competencies that parallel job and real-life situations
Students are evaluated against a criterion of excellence instead of by comparison to others
Students must achieve mastery in all competencies and complete an occupational or specialized skill before being awarded their High School Equivalency Diploma
Minimum requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older, must demonstrate a minimum reading and math level of 9.0 or higher on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), must demonstrate passing level on CASAS reading, writing, and math tests, must be available to meet in person once a week
